My love for digital marketing, coding, and content creation comes, not just from my educational experiences, but from my journey through life. I have always had a longing to travel in search of inspiration and knowledge and after I finished school at CCSU I decided to embark on a journey that would take me to Costa Rica, Taos New Mexico, and Portland Oregon. In each of these places I learned from other travelers, business owners, and innovators that have been exploring a multitude of lifestyles, services, and arts. In that time all I had was a laptop, a nikon d40 DSLR, a 360 panorama tripod, and a willingness to volunteer my time.
I signed up for WOOF (agricultural voluntourism) and contacted a few projects that would propel me into an adventure filled with 360 photography, web development, and digital marketing. Out of need for speeding up production I also created a CMS to manage the 360 panoramic virtual tours called Treasure Maps which I am still using to this date. I was also lucky enough to have studied WordPress CMS when it first came out so I began creating themes and plugins for my new clients. Acquiring work on my journey was an easy task.
In the last couple years my work has shifted into the VR and AR space. I am taking what I know about GIS technology and web based mapping programming and combining it with world space spatial content management. This bridges actual locations with exact duplicates in VR. I am currently working on a permaculture training program as well as a multiplayer game that teaches sustainability skills through virtual and augmented realities.
Throughout my business and traveling experiences I have learned a lot about marketing businesses and the tools needed to really stand out. I also learned how fun this industry is as you are always learning something new. I learned yoga, tai chi, healthy eating, animal husbandry, herbalism, astrology and how to be a good dad. The people I have met in my journey are all a part of what help me solve problems and make me a quick learner. If I don’t have a particular skill I am very good at figuring it out quickly. I have become a people person in my journey and pride myself in truly enjoying the collaborative process. I have been back from my journey for several years now and have been enjoying family life here in Western Massachusetts.
